The administrator receives error emails when an invoice isn't created

Troubleshootingwordpress2026-07-01

Symptom

The WordPress site’s administrator email address (admin_email) automatically receives an email when something goes wrong generating or transmitting an invoice, without anyone having explicitly requested it.

Cause

This isn’t an optional add-on you enable: it’s a behavior built into the POP plugin, always active, designed to flag problems immediately without having to check the logs manually. The emails are sent to the site’s admin address (get_bloginfo('admin_email')) in these cases:

Fix

There’s nothing to “enable”: these notifications are automatic. If you receive them, act on the cause stated in the body of the email:

  1. Account setup not completed → go to POP → Electronic Invoice - Settings, tab General, and complete/link the account (or restart the wizard).
  2. Generic API error or overquota → check the technical message included in the email: it states the status code and the context of the failed call; check the account’s plan and remaining credits.
  3. SDI rejection → open the invoice indicated and check the rejection details before correcting and resending.

If you don’t want to receive these emails at that address, the only lever is to change the WordPress site’s admin_email (a general WordPress setting, not a POP option): there is no dedicated toggle in POP to disable them individually.
