Electronic invoicing in France (gov-fr)

Goal

Understand what’s needed for electronic invoicing in France with POP and what to expect from activation.

What you need

How it works

POP sends your invoices to France’s official corridor (gov-fr), handled through our compliance partner: this is not the same generic PEPPOL network used for other European countries, but nothing changes in how you generate invoices.

You don’t need to look up or manually enter your SIREN in most cases: POP derives it automatically from your French VAT number (the last 9 digits). POP also checks that the entered VAT number is correct against the SIREN it contains, so typos get flagged right away instead of causing problems later.

After activation you’ll complete an identity verification (KYC) step on a page hosted directly by our compliance partner, not by the POP panel: a different step than Polish KSeF, where signing happens entirely inside the account panel.

Steps

  1. In the guided setup wizard (or the account panel, for an existing account with country France), confirm your SIREN number: in most cases it’s already pre-filled, derived automatically from your VAT number.
  2. Save: POP automatically registers your French Legal Entity.
  3. Complete identity verification (KYC) on our compliance partner’s external page.

Current status

The France corridor is in beta: it covers invoice generation and sending (e-invoicing). France’s second requirement, e-reporting (for operations outside the internal B2B perimeter), isn’t covered yet.
