What the POP plugin does on WooCommerce

Getting startedwordpress2026-07-01

Goal

Understand, before installing it, what the POP plugin actually does when you activate it on a WooCommerce store.

What POP configures

Once active, POP integrates with WooCommerce and automatically adds:

  1. Billing fields at checkout and in “My account” — customer type (Individual / Company / Sole trader), VAT number, tax code, and a field for PEC or a 7-character SDI recipient code. Each of these fields is required or optional depending on the customer’s country and the selected customer type, and is validated with a format check.
  2. Automatic generation of the XML document for every order that enters “processing” or “completed” status — see invoice-numbering-and-order-status.
  3. A dedicated settings panel — POP → Electronic Invoice - Settings in wp-admin, with separate tabs for company data, checkout, numbering, documents, advanced options, and integrations.

What it does NOT include by default

Verify

After activation, open POP → Electronic Invoice - Settings: if you see the General, Checkout, Numeration, Documents, Advanced, Invoices, and Integrations tabs, the plugin is installed and working.
