Minimum requirements to install the POP plugin
Goal
Check that your WordPress environment meets the minimum requirements before installing POP.
Requirements declared by the plugin
| Component | Minimum required | Tested up to |
|---|---|---|
| PHP | 7.4 | — |
| WordPress | 4.6 | 7.0 |
| WooCommerce | 4.0 | 9.x |
These are the values declared in the plugin package (header and readme.txt). WooCommerce’s HPOS
(High-Performance Order Storage) is supported starting from WooCommerce 9.x. To reliably use all current
features (setup wizard, Integrations tab, XML/PDF generation via the cloud API), we still recommend an
up-to-date environment — WordPress 6.x and WooCommerce 9.x or higher — consistent with what your
hosting already requires for security reasons.
How to check the installed versions
- WordPress:
wp-admin > About WordPress(or at the bottom of anywp-adminscreen). - WooCommerce:
WooCommerce > Status(tab “Status”), “WordPress environment” section. - PHP: on the same
WooCommerce > Statusscreen, “Server environment” section.
Verify
If the installed versions are equal to or higher than the minimums in the table, you can proceed with first-installation.
Common errors
- The plugin doesn’t appear among the ones you can activate / fatal error on activation — check the PHP version: very old environments (PHP < 7.4) may behave differently in some areas of the plugin that depend on more recent autoloading features.
- Some settings don’t appear (Integrations tab, wizard) — make sure WooCommerce is active and
up to date: the plugin registers its hooks against WooCommerce at
init. - Before updating WordPress/WooCommerce to a major version — test in a staging environment: see update-plugin for the procedure to update only the POP plugin.
