Importing/exporting the plugin configuration between two installations
Goal
Replicate POP’s configuration (settings saved in the General, Numeration, Documents, etc. tabs) on another WordPress installation, without manually re-entering every field.
Prerequisites
- Administrator access to both installations (source and destination).
- POP installed and active on both.
Steps
- On the source installation, go to
POP → Electronic Invoice - Settings, Advanced tab, Import/Export section (also reachable from the link in the tab’s internal navigation bar). - Copy the entire contents of the Export options field (read-only): it’s a serialized snapshot of the plugin’s current options.
- On the destination installation, open the same Advanced > Import/Export tab.
- Paste the copied text into the Import options field.
- Save the page (the Advanced tab’s save button).
Verify
After saving, reload the tab and check that the values in the other tabs (General, Numeration, Documents…) match those on the source installation.
Common errors
- The settings don’t change after importing — make sure you saved the page (pasting the text alone isn’t enough): saving only happens on submitting the Advanced tab’s form.
- Some “premium” settings (credit note numbering, etc.) stay locked after the import — if the destination account’s plan doesn’t enable them, the imported values for those fields are ignored.
- You want to copy only some settings, not all of them — import/export replaces the entire text collection of options: it isn’t designed for a selective merge of individual fields.
- Account-specific data (license, POP account ID) — import/export covers the plugin’s locally saved options; the license and account connection stay tied to each installation and still need to be completed with the wizard, see first-installation.
